Tanoa Waterfront Hotel ★★★

Two swimming pools Onsite restaurant Friendly and very helpful staff

Late check in, room was not ready, air con unit was not working properly and it was so hot in fiji in February But was put to another room quickly with a fully working aircon unit

The wait staff in restaurant were very pleasant. The included breakfast was very good. The mattress was a bit to firm but the room was spacious. It rained the time we were there so we didn't get to enjoy the pool.

Location close to port if your cruise goes out of this port. There was only the hotel restaurant to eat or drink at since there is nothing else nearby to walk to.

The free WiFi is great but the login system is archaic & clunky…

Stayed there from Dec 25 to Jan 3. Only had issue with air con. Had to get room changed because the air con could not be fixed in the first room on Dec 25. In the second room the air con was simply not good enough by Jan 1.

Breakfast was good and also the location

The Staff where amazing. The facilities were great. Our bed was very comfortable and the place was very clean.

There is nothing I didn't like about Tanoa Waterfront Hotel. However it takes a little to get use to Laukota.

The staff were amazing, especially Moreen, and she was wonderful. They made my stay comfortable with going the extra mile.

No comments as I loved everything about it.

Tanoa is located on waterfront and best accommodation in Lautoka town. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffet and lovely restaurant with seating outside on the terrace area with sea views.

My room was not ready at 2.30pm.

Staff and the manager should undergo training about promises and attitude... and should pay more attention to the word of mouth. I booked 2 nights under non refundable rate, however I missed my flight to Fiji, so caught up another flight on the next day, informed them I will show up for 1 night only, which went smooth. During check out, I asked the front desk lady if they'd charged me for 1 night or 2 nights? She said "one", I confirmed again with her "one night? thank you so much for your understanding" thinking Fijian are so kind and reasonable. Who knows after I got back to my country and checked my payment, they'd charged me 2 nights! I then sent message to the property saying what happened? Their answer was short and only mentioning I booked under non refundable rate... I was so pissed NOT about the rigid policy, but the contradiction that lady had given me...just lied right to my face! Saying out loud and firm that they will charge me 1 night only with a smile, but charged me 2 nights at behind. After a few emails, all I got was "BULA, regardless of what you have been told, you will be charged two nights.....", its like they don't give a damn, period. And the last mail I sent them was at least refund me the Tax/VAT/Enviormental fee... however... they completely ignored me already... really bad experience. I would rather them telling me strictly that I will be charged 2 nights during my checkout because it's non refundable, than saying this but do that at my back. so pissed!

Facility is nice and clean.

No explanation whatsoever at the check-in, e.g. breakfast time, where the breakfast will be served, check out time etc etc. When we have asked for swimming pool towels, the reception volunteered to bring them to our room, we have waited for a while as we understand Fiji time then followed up with the reception. They said they will bring the towel now but never did. Room cleaning was only done around 4.40pm even though we have put please service my room sign and following our request in person for a couple of times. With this price range, we expect a bit better service.

The pool

Dirty bed cover,nosey party’s,no wipes to wipe down the gym equipment after use and I went and asked for some but they don’t have them,no water in gym. No pool towels in room or at pool side.

Cleanliness was a concern especially the toilet shower overall the washroom itself. The toilet bowl has brown stain buildup. Use janola to get rid of mould in shower n toilet bowl. Has stuffy smell. It needs immediate attention.

Poor uncleaned washrooms and mouldly curtains. Cleanliness is extremely poor. Get better housekeeping staff. Standard of cleanliness has really downgraded. Also please clarify the haal food from rest. More muslims can accomodate in Tanoa and buy meals if haal food is handled separately.

Friendly staff, excellent customer service. Room and washroom very clean. Bonus was upgraded to a family size without asking.. vinaka Checked in twice from a return trip. Both times the fridge was not working but the staff took care of it right away.

Laundry too expensive

pretty much what you expect for fiji at the price although the newer rooms are aq lot better than the old rooms, location is good and good view from dining room. Swimming pool is nice

breakfast is fairly average, toilet not that clean in our room

We like the location of the hotel and friendly staff. We arrived early am and overslept and were 15 mins late for the breakfast buffet. I thought the staff went over and beyond to accommodate us and made us food to order. Thanks

The porter who helped on the 3rd of Oct. Had a attitude . just because I didn't give him tip since I didn't have any change. I didn't feel safe . when he came to put my bags in the room .he told me to close the door. And started walking around in the room . which his not suposed to do. Good that my cousin brother was with us. I hope this matter is taken off. I complained at front desk next day. She told me she will report to the manager. This was my 5th stay in this hotel. Thanks
